My Engagement Shoot

I just wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes and congratulations on my engagement to my amazing fiancé, Rob. We have now been engaged for a month and five days, and it has been the most amazing time of my life. I am truly blessed for all I have and I want to share a few of the pictures my father took for us today to celebrate our engagement.

The Magnificent D700

So I gave in and bought the camera I've been keeping myself from buying for probably over 2 years. Now that I have it, I can't believe I waited so long to get it. Finally I have a digital SLR that makes my 14mm a true 14mm! Ok I could go on about all the wonderfulness about this camera, but I'll just post a few of my first shots. These first couple are of Beardslee Castle in Little Falls, NY.

These other shots are from a random hike on the Breia Canal Trail near Boonville, NY and I came across these dilapidated buildings.

Blog Babble

It seems I'm not very good at this blog thing. I don't really like to write much. I never know what to say. The only time I ever really do is when I travel. I keep a journal of all my adventures so I always have a way to remember all those little things I'd otherwise be so likely to forget. It also doesn't help that I don't get to spend nearly as much time as I'd like on here, since work now takes up most of my time. I wish I could still say this was my only work, but it seems that the real world finally caught up me.
At least I still get to have a little fun. My second show of the season is this weekend in Northampton, Mass. I finally get to see Enter the Haggis for the first time in quite a while. It's been a long wait, but they're always worth it. My first show was 2 weekends ago in Schenectady, NY, and it was fairly successful. Hopefully I can soon say the same for this one!

Flickr

I've been scanning some old negatives from California for the last few days and posting them on my Flickr page. Some of the shots are really nice and now I'm debating maybe scanning them at a little better quality and adding a California album here on my website. Looking through all these old shots is making me really want to get out of the snow and go back out to California for another visit.

Website is up and running.

Things have been going good, getting the new site set up. Figuring out all these html, css, and java codes have been confusing for me to figure out, but I think I've finally got the hang of it. For having no clue what I was doing to begin with, I think the site has turned out pretty decent. I'm happy with it anyway. I'm still working on it though. There are still images in need of uploading, Croatia has only been partially uploaded, but at the same time, it's the most put-together gallery on the site at the moment. I've been working on setting up my paypal account to work with the site. It took a couple of days for me to understand what exactly I needed to do, but now I've got it. Unfortunatelym it'll be a pretty slow process, because I need to create individual "add to cart" buttons for each image. Otherwise I don't know how I'd know which image people wanted to purchase. Croatia is the only gallry at the moment with the buttons. Hopefully I can get the rest of the galleries ready soon.
